Australian Brush Fires

A quick jump out of time sequence to show the effect of the Australian brush fires. Tonight (Sunday, 1/5/20)  there were reports in Auckland (northern NZ) of the skies turning orange between 4-6 PM due to the amount of ash in the skies from Australia. The ash filters out the blue wavelengths, giving the sky an orange look.

We are seeing some related effects here in Hawk’s Bay. Today was meant to be sunny and pleasantly warm, but it was overcast most of the day - but not cloudy- and cool. The pics are of Hawke’s Bay from Te Mata peak and of the sun as it is setting over our apartment.
